App Name: FirdawsWay: Quran Prayer Adhan
Developer: BHY Technologies
1. Who we are
FirdawsWay: Quran Prayer Adhan (“FirdawsWay”, “we”, “us”) is developed by BHY Technologies, which is responsible for your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the FirdawsWay apps on your phone, tablet, computer or watch, how we use it, and the choices you have.
An account is optional: prayer times, the adhan, the Quran and most other features work without one. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: if you choose to sign in with Google, Apple or a code sent to your email, we receive your email address, your name and, where available, your profile photo. You can also add a photo, your gender and your country to your profile.
- Location and prayer settings: your location (only if you allow it) or a city you choose, and your prayer settings. Prayer times are calculated on your device. If you sign in, these settings are saved to your account. While prayer alerts are on, your location, time zone and prayer settings are also kept on our server for your device, signed in or not, so that a prayer notification your phone misses can still reach you; they are removed when you turn the alerts off or delete your account. While the weather is on (it is unless you turn it off in Settings → General), your approximate location, rounded to about 11 km, is sent while the home screen or the weather screen is open to fetch the weather for that area, and is not stored.
- Activity and progress: if you sign in, your tracker, Quran bookmarks and reading progress, saved zakat calculations, XP, levels, badges and game scores are stored with your account so they sync across your devices.
- Friends and blocked users: if you invite friends, we record who invited whom, and we keep a list of the users you have blocked.
- Content you send us: support messages, screenshots and attachments, questions you ask FirdawsAI, and gift campaign entries. The app’s support form does not ask for your contact details; we reply inside the app and, if you have an account, we may also send the reply to your account’s email address. If you email us, we receive your email address.
- Answers to the app's question: now and then the app asks one question, such as what you use most. If you answer, your answer is sent with the app's version, platform and language and your country, whether or not usage analytics is on; it is linked to your device only if it is.
- Help centre searches: what people type into the help centre search is stored as daily counts, not linked to anyone. A search that contains an email address or a long number has its text removed before it is stored.
- Device and diagnostic information: device model (on a Windows PC, its name), operating system, app version and language, IP address, an identifier for the app on your device, push notification tokens, crash reports and, unless you turned it off or did not agree, usage analytics.
- Advertising information: our advertising partners collect your advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking), your IP address, information about your device and how you interact with ads. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
- Purchases: Premium and tips are paid through your app store. We receive the purchase details, such as the product, price and transaction, but never your card or payment details.
Some of this information, such as your prayer settings, your madhab (school of jurisprudence) and your tracker, can reveal your religious beliefs. Without an account, your settings and tracker stay on your device; with an account, they are stored with it to provide the features you use. If you agree to usage analytics, your madhab is included in them, whether or not you have an account; analytics that is on because no consent form applies to you does not include it.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the app: prayer times and notifications, sign-in and sync, leaderboards and online games, FirdawsAI, purchases and support. This is necessary to provide the service you asked for (contract).
- To keep the app working and secure: fixing crashes and errors, protecting accounts and preventing abuse (legitimate interests).
- To improve the app: understanding how features are used, through usage analytics. Where a consent form applies to you, such as in Europe, it is off unless you agree (consent). Elsewhere, our own usage analytics is on from the start, including on an iPhone or iPad where you asked the app not to track you, and it goes only to our own server (legitimate interests); turn off Usage Analytics in Settings → Privacy to stop it, which also deletes what our server holds from your device, and if you turned it off it stays off. Google Analytics receives this usage data only if you agree, and with the same consent one of our advertising partners receives it to improve the ads that keep FirdawsWay free. Your answers to the app's occasional question serve the same purpose; you give them by choosing to answer (consent). If usage analytics is off, the app still counts how often each screen and feature is used, as daily totals sent with nothing that identifies you or your device, the way app opens are counted, so we know what is used (legitimate interests). Turn off “Anonymous usage counts” in Settings → Privacy to stop it.
- To show ads: ads keep FirdawsWay free. Where the law requires consent for personalised ads, we show them only if you agree (consent or legitimate interests).
- To feature top players in our posts: if you finish a month near the top of the monthly leaderboard and have said yes, we may show your display name, photo, rank, XP and country flag in FirdawsWay’s posts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. We ask first, and nothing about you is posted without your yes (consent).
- To meet legal obligations: such as keeping purchase and tax records (legal obligation).
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time (see section 7).
Information from your Google Account. If you sign in with Google, FirdawsWay asks Google only for your name, email address, profile photo and account identifier (the basic "openid", "email" and "profile" permissions). We use them only to create your account, sign you in and show your name and photo in the app. We do not use them for advertising, we do not sell them, we do not use them to train AI models, and we do not share them except with the service providers that host FirdawsWay for us. You can delete them at any time by deleting your account (see data deletion), and you can remove FirdawsWay's access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. FirdawsWay's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How we share your information
We share personal information only as described below.
- Service providers that host and operate the service for us: cloud hosting and storage, content delivery, email delivery, push notifications, and crash reporting and analytics. They may process your information only on our instructions and to provide their services to us.
- Huawei: on a Huawei phone without Google services, notifications reach you through Huawei’s notification service, so Huawei receives what it needs to deliver them to your phone. Huawei handles it under its own privacy statement.
- AI service provider: when you ask FirdawsAI a question, the question, the earlier messages in that conversation and the passages the app found are sent to an AI service provider to generate the answer. Your name, email address and location are not sent. The provider may use submissions to improve its services, so please do not include personal or sensitive information about yourself or anyone else in your questions.
- Weather: to show the weather on the home card, our server asks MET Norway, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, for the forecast of an area of about 11 km. If it cannot answer, our server asks Bright Sky, which serves the forecasts of Deutscher Wetterdienst, the German weather service. Each receives only that area’s coordinates from our server, never anything that identifies you or your device.
- Advertising partners, including Google, which collect information directly from the app to show ads and use it under their own privacy policies. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. If you agree to usage analytics, one of them also receives the same record of how you use the app, with your device’s advertising ID where your device provides it, to improve the ads it shows in FirdawsWay. It processes it for us under its data processing terms and does not receive your name, your email address or your precise location; on iPhone and iPad nothing is shared if you asked the app not to track you, and turning off Usage Analytics in Settings → Privacy stops it.
- App stores, which process your payments.
- Sign-in providers (Google and Apple), when you choose to sign in with them.
- Content services: Quran recitations, translations, place names and the books you download in the Library (straight from IslamHouse.com) are loaded from public services, which receive your IP address as any website does.
- Other users: leaderboards are public and show your name, photo, level and scores, unless you turn off “Show me on leaderboards”. Players in an online game see your name, photo and score, and someone who invited you sees your first name. Your name and photo appear on the supporters wall only if you choose.
- Social media: a post you agreed to appear in is published on FirdawsWay’s own Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube accounts, where anyone can see it, and those platforms handle it under their own privacy policies. If you have not agreed, your place in the post shows only your country’s flag and “Player”.
- Videos on this website play in YouTube’s player, in its privacy-enhanced mode, so what you watch here does not shape what YouTube shows you. YouTube (Google) receives your IP address when the player loads and handles what it collects under its own privacy policy.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others.
5. International transfers
Our servers are in the European Union. Some of our service providers and partners process data in other countries, including the United States. When your personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your information while your account is active, or for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this policy, and then delete or anonymise it. When you delete your account, your personal data is erased from our active systems straight away and from our backups within 30 days. We keep some records longer where the law requires it, such as purchase records, which are no longer linked to your account. Advertising partners and app stores keep what they collect under their own policies. Without an account, your settings and progress stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Usage analytics you agree to are kept on our server for about 6 months, then deleted. Turning Usage Analytics off, Delete My Data or deleting your account deletes them sooner, and your answers to the app's question are then no longer linked to your device. The anonymous daily totals identify nobody and are kept for about 13 months.
Older versions of the app stored some account data with a cloud provider. That data is handled under this policy; to have it deleted, email us.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
- Your account: edit your profile in the app, save a copy of your data with Settings → Privacy → Export My Data, and delete your account with Settings → Account → Delete account (see data deletion).
- Ads, analytics and tracking: Settings → Privacy → Manage Ad Preferences (where available) and Usage Analytics; on iPhone and iPad, Privacy & Security → Tracking in the Settings app; on Android, your device’s advertising ID settings. To stop the anonymous daily counts too, turn off “Anonymous usage counts”.
- What others see: turn off “Show me on leaderboards” or “Show my name and picture”. To stay out of FirdawsWay’s posts, turn off “Feature me in FirdawsWay’s posts”: it covers every post made afterwards. To have a post already published taken down, write to us from the app’s Help & Feedback.
- Permissions: review or revoke location, notification, camera and other permissions in your device settings.
For anything else, including a copy of the data on our servers, email privacy@firdawsway.app. You can also complain to a data protection authority, such as the CNPD in Portugal, where we are based.
8. Children
FirdawsWay is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) without parental consent. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. We feature a player in our posts only with their own yes, and the question that asks them tells younger players to say yes only if a parent or guardian agrees. A parent or guardian can ask us to take down any post of their child.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as encrypted connections, access controls and regular backups. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of FirdawsWay after a change means you accept the updated policy.
